The Beverages sector includes some big names, such as Diageo and Britvic. The former has a large range of alcohol brands and is well known for Guinness, Smirnoff and Johnnie Walker, as well as many other tipples. Given the high level of capital required in the industry, smaller players are few and far between. However, there have been some notable success stories in recent years. For example, AIM-listed Fevertree Drinks has grown rapidly on the back of gin finding favour with drinkers in the UK. This has seen the company’s share price soar and long term investors have seen the value of their holdings multiply.
