A number of investment trusts have grown to the size where they are constituents of the FTSE 350 and the Collective Investments sector is one which should not be ignored. Although the nature of collective investments mean that they offer exposure to a spread of investments, they can still deliver strong performance. Some collective investments also offer a convenient way of gaining exposure to a particular geographical market. On the whole collective investments can be a good way to get some exposure to the stock market for those who may only have a modest amount to invest, or who do not want to risk investing in an individual company.
