21 October 2011 – interim management statement

The publishing group has reported positive growth in the period to 30 September with increases in revenues and profits.  These have been helped by resumed buying by the newly invigorated Waterstone chain, a maiden contribution from Frances Lincoln, acquired in mid-August and the best-selling launch of The Secret Life of Bletchley Park.  As a result, the group is confident that it will meet full-year expectations and the shares remain a BUY.
