27 July 2022 - trading update

The leading pub and brewing company has announced a trading statement covering the 42 weeks to 23 July and these have revealed that like-for-like sales were 2% down compared with pre-Covid levels of 2019.  Drink sales have continued to outperform food sales.  In the last 16 week period, like-for-like sales are just 1% below 2019, although sales have weakened in the last four weeks as solid drinks sales have been offset by weaker food sales mainly due to the exceptionally hot weather.  There is clearly some concern about sales going . . .
